Expanding Behavioral Health Access

Expanding Behavioral Health Access

At Scenic Bluffs Community Health Centers, we recognize that finding access to behavioral health services is difficult for many in our area. In response to urgent and increasing community needs, we have expanded our Behavioral Health services in the community of La Crosse. Recognizing the importance of comprehensive well-being, our aim is to bring accessible mental health support to individuals and families in the region.

Located at 212 11th Street South, Scenic Bluffs has providers available for behavioral health appointments on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Appointments are available with three of our behavioral health providers: Debra Murray, PsyD, CSAS, ICS; Bill Bakalars, LPC, CSAC; and Carrie Baumgartner, CSW, LPC

The Behavioral Health department at Scenic Bluffs covers a wide range of services, including but not limited to:

  • Alcohol and other Drug Abuse (AODA)
  • Anger management
  • CBT for Sleep Disturbances
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Grief and loss
  • Marriage and divorce
  • Parenting and family issues
  • Interpersonal relationships
  • Sexual assault
  • Trauma
  • Adjustment to life circumstances

Counseling staff at Scenic Bluffs offer services that promote effective communication, symptom relief, problem solving, personal growth and healing. Behavioral Health services are provided in a variety of appointment types, such as in-person, or virtual, and are offered in a variety of languages through interpretation support.

Scenic Bluffs’ Behavioral Health department accepts most private insurance, Wisconsin Medicaid, and those without insurance. We offer a sliding-fee scale program, called the Healthy Neighbor Plan, which is offered to all individuals to help make care more affordable. Depending on household size and income, the charges for services could be reduced.
