Our History

Scenic Bluffs Community Health Centers was founded and incorporated in 1993, and received its first federal Section 330 grant in October 1993.

Cashton Health Center

Scenic Bluffs opened its first Health Center in Cashton in April 1994 in the downtown area. Collaboration with the Cashton Area Developmental Corporation resulted in the expansion of the facility to include dental services. By 2000, an new  Cashton facility opened in the old Cashton bowling alley, becoming the primary location for health services.

In the Fall of 2015, the Cashton site underwent an extensive remodel and expansion. More than 4,000 square feet were added, increasing space for the medical, health education, outreach and registration areas. Our Cashton Health Center, which is now a 14,368 square foot facility, has 12 medical exam rooms, one chiropractic exam room, three behavioral health counseling rooms, 14 dental operatories, a patient pharmacy, and two treatment rooms. The Health Center also has flexible meeting space that can be reserved for community meetings.

Norwalk Health Center

In May of 1999, Scenic Bluffs opened its Health Center in Norwalk to help meet the needs of new immigrant families relocating to work in a local meat packing plant. Our Norwalk Health Center offers four medical exam rooms, a chiropractic exam room, appointments for behavioral health visits, and one treatment room.  We also own and operate the Scenic Bluffs Activity Center, a facility available for rental for meetings, physical activity opportunities and events.

Vernon Memorial Partnership

In the Fall of 2014, in partnership with Vernon Memorial Healthcare, Scenic Bluffs opened dental services in Viroqua.  Dental patients can make appointments through Scenic Bluffs to be seen at the Viroqua.

Lugar de Reunion

In 2015, Scenic Bluffs acquired Lugar de Reunion (LdR), a Hispanic community outreach and resource center in Sparta. In partnership with the Sparta Area School District, LdR operates in the downstairs of the Sparta Administrative building.

The purpose of LdR is to improve access to local resources in order to enhance and support the Hispanic communities in Sparta, the county and the region.

In early 2017, Scenic Bluffs expanded operations at LdR to now include Behavioral Health services for the Sparta School District, as well as the surrounding community.
