In partnership with Monroe County Safe Community Coalition, Scenic Bluffs Community Health Centers maintains a permanent medication drop-box for public use. The drop-box, which is one of six in Monroe County, is available to the public during normal business hours at Scenic Bluffs in Cashton. Here, the community can discard of their unwanted medications, keeping them safe from the hands of others, as well as keeping water supplies clean.
Medication drop-boxes are in place to encourage proper disposal of unused, unwanted or expired prescription or over-the-counter medication. These programs are not only a strategy for preventing illicit drug use and unintentional poisonings in the community, but also a way to protect our water supply from pharmaceutical contamination. The Medication Drop Box is located in the front of the Cashton Health Centers.
