Malena Lupient, MS, LPC

Malena received her Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in children and adolescents from Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI. She is licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor through the state of Wisconsin. Malena holds a Master of Business Administration from Viterbo University, which she couples with her specialized training in providing career counseling services, and leadership skills. Malena's experiences include career counseling, specialized trainings in providing career exploration assessments, career development searches, and resume development.

Malena has worked extensively with families and children going through re-unification, physical and sexual abuse, adoption, and foster care. She has previous experience working in in-home, school, and community settings, as well as providing group therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults.

Malena's professional memberships include the American Counseling Association, and the EMDR International Association. She has specialized training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for ages 3-18 and is an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist. She is also internationally trained in the EMDR Storytelling technique, QPR, and Youth Mental Health First Aide. Malena is bilingual, studying Spanish language at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. She provides services in both English and Spanish

Malena utilizes a variety of therapy approaches in her care, including Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused and Motivational Interviewing techniques, EMDR, and storytelling techniques, and utilizes play and storytelling throughout therapy with children. Malena meets her clients where they are at, and understands that therapy is not easy, and can be intimidating. She believes it is important to constantly instill hope throughout the therapy process. Malena is available to work with families, adults, children and adolescents, and specializes in the treatment of abuse, trauma, domestic violence, depression, anxiety among others.

Malena enjoys spending free time with her family, going on runs, music and travelling.
