Rachel specializes in working with individuals who have experienced different degrees of trauma in their lives, are currently struggling with or have struggled in the past with substance use, struggled with substance use, identify as neurodivergent, and the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
She is passionate about harm reduction, advocacy, intersectionality, and access.
Clinical Approach:
Rachel aims to practice from a holistic and wellbeing perspective, with roots in psychoeducation and client centered care. She believes it is her responsibility to provide a safe environment based in genuineness, acceptance, and empathy while helping clients understand their mind, brain, and nervous system.
She integrates various theories and approaches into her practice including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Tapping and Emotional Freedom Techniques, neuroscience, mindfulness, integration of 12-step models, and other trauma-sensitive interventions.
