Training & Certifications

After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Julie became a Registered Nurse and holds active RN licensure in both Wisconsin and Minnesota. She is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR. Her professional affiliations include membership in the Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care (WAPC), the Western Wisconsin Breastfeeding Coalition, the American Nurses' Association, and the Wisconsin Nurses Association.


In addition to her nursing expertise, Julie serves as a Nurse Care Manager for the National Co-Care Study, which focuses on improving addiction treatment approaches for all forms of drug and alcohol use disorders. She is an active member of both the Monroe County and State of Wisconsin Harm Reduction Coalitions.

Special Interests (Areas of Focus)

Julie has two primary areas of focus in healthcare:

  • OB Care – with a passion for supporting healthy pregnancies and infant feeding, and active involvement in perinatal and breastfeeding care initiatives.
  • Addiction Medicine – specializing in collaborative, patient-centered care for individuals navigating substance use challenges, with a focus on harm reduction, treatment innovation, and system improvements.

Hobbies & Personal Interests

Outside of her professional life, Julie enjoys gardening, exploring new movies and documentaries, and diving into true crime stories—both books and films. A self-described foodie, she loves discovering and recommending the best local dining spots. Her curiosity and enthusiasm for good food, compelling stories, and time outdoors keep her inspired both in and out of the clinic.
