After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, Dr. Koons attended Wayne State School of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Dr. Koons has a Family Medicine Certification from the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Koons has a special interest in providing geriatric care, treating chronic adult diseases, including hypertension and asthma, and promoting health lifestyles and mindfulness.
In his spare time, Dr. Koons enjoys birdwatching, hiking, biking, playing pickleball, reading and landscaping. He also enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.
