Training & Certifications

After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, Chris completed his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with an emphasis in mental health and substance use disorder treatment. He is licensed to practice in Wisconsin as an Advanced Practice Social Worker (APSW) and has worked previously as a community mental health services provider. Chris has completed professional training in Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In 2023, Chris was licensed as a Substance Abuse Counselor- In Training.

Special Interests (Areas of Focus)

Chris practices a collaborative and goal-oriented approach to counseling with a focus on cognitive, behavioral, and interpersonal therapeutic tools. He enjoys working with a wide range of individuals across the lifespan. He has particular experience working with adolescents, young adults, and LGBTQ+ populations. He has experience treating anxiety, depression, mood concerns, relationship challenges, stress, low self-esteem, and unwanted habits.

Hobbies & Personal Interests

In his free time, Chris enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time outdoors. He has a lifelong interest in positive psychology, mindful awareness, and meditation practices. As a professional social worker, Chris has a passion for service and social justice—volunteering and contributing to local organizations when able.
