Scenic Bluffs Community Health Centers will celebrate National Health Center Week (NHCW) 2025 with a series of community-focused events from August 3–9, recognizing the impact of Community Health Centers (CHCs) in advancing access to affordable, high-quality healthcare for all.
This year’s NHCW theme, “America’s Health Centers: Celebrating 60 Years of Improving Our Nation’s Health,” pays tribute to the powerful legacy of CHCs across the country. Scenic Bluffs—serving rural western Wisconsin for more than 31 years—is proud to join this national celebration by hosting events that highlight health equity, community partnerships, and wellness.
“For more than three decades, Scenic Bluffs has worked alongside our communities to build healthier, more connected communities,” said Kim Hawthorne, CEO of Scenic Bluffs. “Our mission is to support healthier people and communities, and we do that by providing accessible, affordable healthcare and support services. National Health Center Week is not just a celebration—it’s an opportunity to express our gratitude to the people and partners who make community health possible, and to open our doors in service and support.”

For more than 31 years, Scenic Bluffs has been a trusted healthcare partner in western Wisconsin, providing accessible and affordable care for patients of all ages and backgrounds. Scenic Bluffs provides integrated, comprehensive services—including primary medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and complementary therapies—to over 9,500 patients annually. With clinics in Cashton, Norwalk, La Crosse, and partnerships in more than 50 schools, the organization ensures that quality care is accessible to all. Supportive services also include health education and prevention programming, insurance enrollment assistance and connection to resources for food, housing and transportation.
Across the country, more than 1,500 Community Health Centers serve as the healthcare home for:
- 1 in 5 rural residents
- 1 in 5 uninsured individuals
- 1 in 3 people living in poverty
- 9.4 million children
- 419,000 veterans
Despite serving 10% of the U.S. population, CHCs represent only 1% of national healthcare spending—demonstrating the cost-effectiveness and life-saving impact of primary care that prevents illness, reduces hospitalizations, and addresses the root causes of poor health.
