About Group Therapy

Group therapy can be beneficial to many as it allows clients to connect with others in similar circumstances and know they are not alone. Groups consist of up to 12 people and are typically 90 minutes in length. Visits are located at Scenic Bluffs or outreach service locations.

Types of Group Therapy

There are two types of Group Therapy: open groups and closed groups. Groups that are
closed, will have a limit of attendees. Open groups do not have a limit, and different attendees may be at the group each session. Groups may be limited to a certain amount of
sessions, or may be ongoing with no end date.

Closed groups, which are time limited, may have a requirement for clients to attend all or most of
the sessions. An open group does not have an attendance requirement. It is asked if a client cannot attend a group they notify the clinic within 24 hours prior to the group session.

Group Therapy Sessions

There are currently no public group therapy sessions scheduled. Please check back at a later time, or contact Scenic Bluffs at 608-654-5100 to schedule an individual session.

Once you have registered for a Group Therapy session, a one-on-one intake screening will be
scheduled to be completed with the client and/or guardian prior to the start of the group. The intake screening is to ensure that Group Therapy is a good fit for the client. All intake forms and permission forms will be signed during this time as well.If the therapist / guardian determine that individual therapy would benefit a group member, the provider will coordinate this discussion and appropriate referrals will be put in place at that time.
